An overwhelming majority — 86% — of voters in an ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday say that President Biden is “too old” to serve another term.

The survey comes in the immediate wake of special counsel Robert Hur describing Mr. Biden, 81, as a “well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory” in a report on mishandling classified documents.

Mr. Hur declined to bring charges in his investigation but concluded that Mr. Biden, as a private citizen after being vice president, exercised “serious risks to national security” and “willfully retained and disclosed classified materials.”

The majority — 62% — also say former President Donald Trump is “too old” to serve another term. Mr. Trump, the leading Republican presidential candidate, is 77.

The political parties contrast one another in how they view their respective candidates: 73% of Democrats say Mr. Biden is too old while only 35% of Republicans say the same of Mr. Trump. Among independents, 91% say Mr. Biden is too old and 71% say the same of Mr. Trump.
