Truth — does it still matter? Philosophers might answer that with a snarky, ‘what’s truth?’ But that’s part of the problem in today’s society. Truth has become something to mock.

A big reason why today’s culture is rotten is because Americans, by and large, have decided they don’t need God — a higher authority — to say what’s truth, what’s lie and what behaviors are acceptable. A society adrift on immorality, where rights and wrongs are left to individual whim, will and ever-changing emotions, is a society that can’t last long as free.

“Sometimes you have to call evil what it is,” said Josiah O’Neil, author of “Defining Truth.”

Indeed. Failing to do so only allows that evil to spread and grow, and poison the culture, then the political world, and ultimately, all of society.

So why have Christians been so reluctant to call out evil? Good question.
