Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter has been accused of raping a 13-year-old girl with fellow music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs during an afterparty in 2000, according to an amended civil suit.

The suit, filed in October, was originally only directed at Mr. Combs. However, the civil complaint was amended Sunday to include allegations directed against Mr. Carter.

According to the amended suit, Mr. Carter and Mr. Combs “took turns” assaulting the accuser, known as “Jane Doe,” at an MTV Video Music Awards afterparty in 2000.

Mr. Carter vehemently denied the allegations Sunday evening, publishing a statement through his entertainment company Roc Nation. He said the allegations first came to him through his lawyer as what he described as blackmail.

“These allegations are so heinous in nature that I implore you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one!!,” Mr. Carter wrote. “Whomever would commit such a crime against a minor should be locked away, would you not agree?”

Mr. Carter went on to claim that the accusers’ lawyer, Tony Buzbee, has a history of “theatrics.”

“My heart and support goes out to true victims of the world,” he wrote, “who have to watch how their life story is dressed in costume for profitability by this ambulance chaser in a cheap suit.”

Diddy, who is in prison, faces federal charges of sex trafficking by force, racketeering, prostitution-related offenses and other allegations. If found guilty, he faces a minimum of 15 years in prison.
