Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels’ record-breaking rookie season continued Monday when the first-year signal-caller led all NFC players at his position in Pro Bowl voting.
The NFL released the results of the first batch of votes on Monday.
If the current trends hold, Daniels would be the first Washington quarterback named to a Pro Bowl since Kirk Cousins in 2016.
Daniels has led an efficient Commanders offense throughout his rookie campaign, throwing for 2,819 yards with a combined 21 touchdowns through the air and on the ground. After securing eight Rookie of the Week awards, the LSU product is the betting favorite for the NFL’s Offensive Rookie of the Year award.
The rookie isn’t the only Commander pushing to play in Orlando after the season. Wide receiver Terry McLaurin, center Tyler Biadasz, edge rusher Dante Fowler, safety Jeremy Chinn, special teams ace Jeremy Reaves and linebackers Bobby Wagner and Frankie Luvu all ranked in the Top 10 for their respective positions in the first round of Pro Bowl voting.
The Pro Bowl voting symbolizes a new look for the long-struggling Commanders under first-year coach Dan Quinn. In 2023, the Commanders finished with an abysmal 4-13 record and failed to send any players to the Pro Bowl. Washington (8-5) is primed for a playoff push this season as its key contributors garner national attention.
Fan voting for the Pro Bowl continues until Dec. 23, while players and coaches will cast their ballots on Dec. 27 to determine who represents the NFC and AFC at the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando in February.
