OPINION:
Tom Homan, President-elect Donald Trump’s pick for border czar, sent a clear warning to illegals in the country: Come Jan. 20 — Inauguration Day — the deportation campaign begins.
Merry Christmas, illegals. Be careful when you sleep. The incoming administration is watching!
And Merry Christmas, America. The time of sane national security policy is at hand.
“We’re starting [the deportations] across the country on the same day” as Trump’s inauguration, Homan said, in an interview with the Washington Examiner.
That’s the message being sent now to two dozen ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations’ field offices.
“Every field office will be given the direction that they are to begin looking for, arresting, detaining, removing those in the United States that have been arrested for a crime,” Homan continued.
As for those illegals who’ve not been arrested for a crime — and who have only committed the crime of entering America illegally — well now, Homan went on, too bad for them. That’s called being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and they’ll get treated to the same handcuff welcome as the others with more colorful criminal records who are apprehended by ICE agents.
“In sanctuary cities,” Homan said, “[we] expect a lot of collateral arrests. I mean, not priority criminal arrests. We can’t get the bad guy in jail. That means we have to go into the communities and find them, and there may be others. We expect a lot of collateral arrests.”
There are an estimated 700,000 illegals with criminal convictions to their names who are currently drifting around the United States. Whereas President Biden’s administration turned blind eyes to them, the incoming Team Trump isn’t going to be so kind — or foolish. The surge of illegals into America during the past four years has been record-breaking — and worse than the fact between 11 million and 14 million illegals now roam without fear of deportation is the travesty called “taxpayer entitlement” this White House has affirmed as these roaming illegals’ just due.
In a piece titled, “The Biden Administration Wants Even More Money to Distribute Illegal Aliens Throughout the United States,” published in March, The Heritage Foundation wrote: “The Biden Administration uses two little-known programs to provide taxpayer-funded aid to illegal aliens encountered along the southwest border.”
They’re called EFSP-H and SSP — or, Emergency Supplemental Appropriations for Humanitarian Assistance and Security at the Southern Border Act of 2019. President Trump signed them during his White House term. And they provided $30 million for emergency food and shelter for illegals released by the Department of Homeland Security. But the programs were temporary. They were only funded for a short period. The 2020 appropriations bill Trump signed did not include money for the program, Heritage wrote.
“However, Congress and President Biden … not only revived the program, but significantly increased funding for it,” Heritage reported.
Yes. Tenfold. Tenfold by tenfold.
“FEMA has been using two programs — the ESFP-H and the SSP — to transport and house illegal aliens at taxpayer expense,” Heritage wrote. “This year, the Senate border bill tried to sneak in an additional $1.4 billion.”
Come on, now.
Even Democrats who never met an illegal they wanted to deport must see the nonsense of using millions upon millions of taxpayer dollars to house and feed those who shouldn’t even be in this country in the first place. Think of all the hungry legal citizen children that amount could feed. Think of all the handouts and dole-outs and political giveaways and socialist freebies that could be distributed to would-be Democrat voters in waiting — if only that money didn’t go to illegals. Aren’t Democrats from the party of the little people?
Had Vice President Kamala Harris won in November, America would be on the cusp of utter ruin. She would have continued the open border policies of Biden — which are really just continuations of the open embrace of illegals of Barack Obama days. But the adults are coming back to town.
The White House won’t be rudderless much longer.
The illegals are starting to rethink their illegal stays.
Trump won, and it’s having a wonderful cause-effect for legal citizens.
“Trump signals he will deliver on promise to clamp down on illegal immigration,” the Los Angeles Times wrote in early November.
“Haitian Immigrants ‘Self-Deporting’ Ahead of Trump Inauguration,” The Daily Signal wrote in late November.
Cause. Effect. It doesn’t take long to secure a border. It only takes political will. And the message to illegals with the incoming political leaders is about as clear as it gets: If you’re caught here illegally, you won’t be here much longer.
It’s the best Christmas gift a true American can receive.
