Meta’s “Twitter killer” Threads has passed 100 million daily users.

In a Threads post on Monday, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed that more than 100 million people visit the site each day and that the platform also has around 300 million monthly users.

That’s up from the 275 million monthly users Mr. Zuckerberg reported the site having in November, signaling that Threads still has momentum over a year after its launch.  Additionally, Mr. Zuckerberg’s announcement is the first time the CEO has made public the site’s daily users.

The site likely benefited from a recent exodus from Elon Musk’s X following the November presidential election. Some users felt that Mr. Musk’s relationship with President-Elect Donald Trump was too close and that the site had suffered as a result. Thousands of users have reportedly migrated to rival platforms Threads and BlueSky.

Threads leader Adam Mosseri announced that his platform was benefiting from last month’s exodus, claiming that the site was receiving more than 1 million new sign-ups a day in November.

Threads may have also benefitted from Mr. Musk’s decision to change his platform’s name from Twitter to X. The name change was widely unpopular among users and caused confusion for some users who were unable to find the app on Apple’s App Store.

Threads has also repeatedly added new features to its mobile and desktop applications, including custom feeds and the ability to save multiple drafts.
