Conor McGregor will postpone his return to the octagon to face YouTuber-turned-fighter Logan Paul in an exhibition boxing match in India within the next two years, the former UFC champion said Tuesday.
Paul rose to fame on YouTube before parlaying his notoriety into a career as a boxer and WWE star. His past bouts have featured fellow YouTuber KSI, former world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather and ex-mixed martial artist Dillon Danis.
McGregor hasn’t fought in any official capacity since suffering a broken leg during a fight with Dustin Poirier in 2021.
“I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India,” McGregor wrote on X. “I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
McGregor was initially slated to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 earlier this year but dropped out due to concerns about a foot injury.
The fight with Paul will be McGregor’s second trip into the squared circle after a highly publicized loss to Mayweather in 2017.
