The Washington Commanders are returning to prime time. Their Week 17 game against the Atlanta Falcons has moved to NBC’s “Sunday Night Football” on Dec. 29, the NFL announced Tuesday.
The game, at Northwest Stadium, was listed as “to be determined” as a flex scheduling candidate since the start of the season.
The 9-5 Commanders hold the final wild-card spot in the NFC and will be looking to enhance their playoff seeding, while the 7-7 Falcons are locked in tight competition with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the NFC South title.
The Week 17 matchup will be Washington’s third prime-time game of the season and its first nationally televised home game of the year.
Before welcoming Atlanta, the Commanders will face the division-leading Philadelphia Eagles (12-2) at home on Sunday afternoon.
The 17th week will feature games on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday as the league marches toward the playoffs.
