Trust in the FBI is at an all-time low for some Americans, especially for supporters of Donald Trump. The president-elect is no fan of current FBI director Christopher Wray, arguing he has injected political partisanship into what should be an independent agency. 

To offer who he believes will bring much needed change, Donald Trump nominated Kash Patel to be the new FBI director. This nomination excites conservatives who want to see the bureau become de-politicized. With Christopher Wray planning on resigning before Inauguration Day, Kash Patel’s nomination opens up a confirmation fight in the Senate.
