Heritage Action, a conservative grassroots organization, announced a six figure ad campaign to push for the confirmation of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet picks.
The $150,000 digital ad campaign will be seen in nine states where the Senators could make or break the confirmation process: Alaska, Maine, Louisiana, Iowa, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, Utah, South Dakota and Washington, D.C.
The ads will prompt residents to sign a petition on Heritage Action’s website that urges senators to confirm Mr. Trump’s picks. The ad campaign will be seen from Wednesday until Dec. 31.
“Americans gave President Trump a mandate on Nov. 5 to implement and pass his top priorities as quickly as possible,” Ryan Walker, the organization’s executive vice president, said in a statement. “The Senate must now do its part to have Cabinet appointees confirmed and ready to go to ensure this conservative mandate can be carried out effectively.”
This ad campaign comes after the Heritage Foundation, Heritage Action’s parent organization, launched a $1 million public education and advocacy campaign last month that informed the public about the confirmation process and called for speedy confirmations.
While some of Mr. Trump’s appointees have already received bipartisan support and will sail through their confirmation hearings, others have a harder path forward to convince senators they are qualified for the job.
