OPINION:
President-elect Donald Trump has been given a clear mandate by the voters to shake up “business as usual” in Washington and revamp the federal government to serve the interests of everyday Americans.
Mr. Trump’s approval ratings across all demographics have reached unprecedented levels. He is without a doubt the most popular Republican president in history. This leader has endured years of lawfare from political opponents, defamation by the mainstream media and relentless attacks, all while standing firm for the country.
On Nov. 5, over 77 million Americans made their voices heard, sending Mr. Trump back to the White House. For the first time in 20 years, he won the popular vote, secured the Electoral College and captured every battleground state. With this victory, Mr. Trump has been democratically elected to restore the nation’s trajectory.
In addition to reclaiming the executive branch, Mr. Trump delivered a sweeping victory for Republicans, securing control of the House of Representatives and the Senate. This success directly results from Mr. Trump’s leadership and bold vision for America’s future.
Voters from all backgrounds are done with the corruption, gridlock and political elitism that have defined Washington for decades. With his strength and resolve, Mr. Trump will deliver the transformative change that Americans want when he assumes office on Jan. 20.
Millions of hardworking Americans have renewed hope in Mr. Trump’s agenda to drain the swamp, cut federal spending and restore accountability. Under the Democrats’ leadership over the past four years, the nation has suffered from a $2 trillion spending deficit fueled by damaging policies and proxy wars that threaten our national security.
The American people have spoken, rejecting these policies and signaling their hope for a new era of Trump-led leadership. Mr. Trump has kept his promises and remains committed to faithfully executing the people’s will. Meanwhile, entrenched bureaucrats and the establishment continue to resist his agenda.
Those opposing the confirmation of Mr. Trump’s Cabinet nominees are standing against the interests of the American people. This opposition reveals the depth of the swamp and its determination to maintain the corrupt status quo.
Mr. Trump’s nominees — including Tulsi Gabbard, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel and Pam Bondi — represent a bold new direction for the country. These leaders are uniquely positioned to deliver meaningful change and dismantle entrenched systems of dysfunction.
Mr Kennedy has faced fierce scrutiny from Washington elites who view him as threatening their agenda. Those who once revered the Kennedy name have turned on him, labeling him a “right-wing extremist” despite his history as a former political opponent of Mr. Trump.
Like myself, Mr. Hegseth is a veteran and a staunch advocate for the American military and working-class citizens. As someone I’ve known for years, he allowed me to appear on “Modern Warriors” before I was elected to Congress. As the next secretary of defense, Pete will execute Mr. Trump’s agenda to safeguard our nation. This includes removing divisive diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives from the military and refocusing on defending against all enemies, foreign and domestic.
Mr. Trump’s victory symbolizes a redistribution of power back to the American people, disrupting a broken system. Washington elites fear this change, so it would be wise to recognize that Americans stand firmly with Mr. Trump. They cannot and will not prevail against the “vox populi,” the voice of the people.
The era of bureaucratic gridlock is over. This is the mandate the people have given Mr. Trump, and he will deliver starting on day one. To his political opponents, the message is clear: Get on the Trump train or get off the tracks. Americans have spoken, and the time for action is now.
