OPINION:
This week, Vice President Kamala Harris broke news when she announced her running mate and vice-presidential pick for her 2024 campaign. While most speculated that her pick would be the charismatic governor of the must-win state of Pennsylvania, she caused a massive upset. Mrs. Harris announced that her running mate will be, Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota. After the announcement, collectively voters in this country all had the same question…who in the world is Tim Walz?
Turns out, Mrs. Harris decided to go all in on the progressive Left’s preferred pick of radical Tim Walz. His rap sheet of far-Left activism is ongoing with his most recognizable act being his hands-off approach to the fiery George Floyd Minnesota riots resulting in violence and over 360 businesses destroyed.

The media are all in on the glowing portrayals of Mr. Walz, trying to paint him as your loving, Midwestern grandfather. While Democrats on X are getting creepy with their portrayals of Tim Walz, forgetting he’s a politician and not their family member.
Despite the media shying away from accurately portraying his radical record, Mr. Walz himself, embraces it. On the recent “White Dudes for Harris” call, Mr. Walz stated, “Don’t ever shy away from our progressive values. One person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”
Does this sound like your grandfather to you? My granddad used to watch the “Price is Right” and eat zebra cakes with us, not encourage nationwide socialism while signing radical all-trimester abortion policy into law.

If Mr. Walz is elected, rest assured his Leftist laws will not stay in Minnesota but will be doled out nationally across the country. As this Wall Street Journal piece points out, “At least overtaxed and jobless Minnesotans can vote with their feet. If Kamala Harris and Tim Walz win, all Americans might have to live by California and Minnesota rules.”
And nowhere is his extremism clearer, than on his record on abortion. If elected this country can count on Mr. Walz to try and cram through unpopular and barbaric abortion laws, just like he did in Minnesota through executive order. Here are the top five extreme actions Mr. Walz championed:
1. Mr. Walz signed into law legal abortions for all nine months, for any reason, for anyone of any age.
There are only seven states plus Washington, D.C. in this country that allow abortions throughout pregnancy for any reason, and Mr. Walz is responsible for one of those seven. His law is so radical, he even stripped parental consent, so a minor can get an abortion without their parents ever knowing.
2. Mr. Walz signed legislation increasing taxpayer support for Medicaid-funded abortions in Minnesota.
There is no doubt that if nationally elected, Mrs. Harris and Mr. Walz will do everything they can to force taxpayer funding of abortions nationwide, they’ve already supported it through Congressional legislation. While in Congress, Mr. Walz consistently voted for taxpayer-funded abortion on demand.

3. Mr. Walz made it legal to coerce women into abortions.
Yes, you read that right. Mr. Walz exposed his hypocrisy on women’s rights when he purposefully got rid of Minnesota’s law forbidding women to be coerced into having abortions. He even repealed the requirement that women must be given informed consent – any consent – to an abortion. AsNational Review puts it, “Under Tim Walz, Minnesota went from a pro-choice state to a radically pro-abortion state at the expense of pregnant women.”
4. Mr. Walz got rid of laws requiring medical care for babies that survive abortion attempts on their lives.
Not only did he stop medical care to these children, but he also mandated that all data and reporting on survivors be stopped. He made it so we no longer have any solid data on how many babies survive abortions in Minnesota. He may have done this given the likelihood of live births during second- and third-trimester abortions allowed under his new law. But his own data, prior to the repeal exposes him and shows the truth. Between his inauguration and his removal of the reporting requirement, Minnesota reported eight babies born alive following abortions.
5. Finally, as governor, Mr. Walz embraced Planned Parenthood and punished pregnancy centers.
It was Gov. Tim Walz who escorted and campaigned with Kamala Harris for the first time ever (for any VP) at a Planned Parenthood in Minnesota. Yet, he actively targeted and eliminated Minnesota’s “Positive Alternatives” program, which provided funding to pregnancy centers in the state. Proving Mr. Walz prioritizes and supports one choice – more abortions, not alternative resources to help mothers and babies. Because that’s exactly what pregnancy centers do, they meet the needs of mothers with unplanned pregnancies, especially those facing pressure or coercion.
Don’t be fooled by the media’s sycophantic portrayal of Mr. Walz as a Midwesterner with a heart of gold. He is without a doubt a wolf in sheep’s clothing wearing a camo hat. It was Nancy Pelosi who said it best. While running for governor, Mr. Walz joked that he was so radically pro-abortion, that even Nancy Pelosi suggested he “tone it down.” Obviously, she was not wrong.
If Nancy Pelosi is telling someone they’re too much of a fanatic…then that tells us everything we need to know.
