Former President Donald Trump said Thursday he’s healed from the gunshot that hit his ear during an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania.
“Pretty much recovered, yeah. I’m a fast healer,” Mr. Trump said at a news conference from his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. “It was a hell of a shot, but I’m a fast healer.”
Mr. Trump was speaking to a crowd on July 13 when Thomas Matthew Crooks opened fire from a nearby rooftop, grazing Mr. Trump, killing one supporter and injuring two others.
“I got very lucky,” Mr. Trump said. “It just hit the lobe, as they call it.”
Mr. Trump’s decision to raise his fist and say, “Fight!” after the gunfire became an iconic image among MAGA supporters.
Some Republicans wore bandages on their ears in support of Mr. Trump, who wore a bandage during the GOP convention in Milwaukee last month. The former president has not sported the bandage in his rallies and other public appearances for about two weeks.
