Mixed martial artist Conor McGregor teed off on Donald Trump after the former president named Russia’s Khabib Nurmagomedov as his favorite UFC pugilist during an interview Monday with online streamer Adin Ross.

McGregor praised Trump after the July 13 assassination attempt on the Republican presidential candidate but changed his tune in a series of since-deleted posts on X this week.

“Campaign ending decision,” the Irish fighter wrote on Monday. “I would have thought USA ONLY would be the mentality here and what I would want to see out of my president, personally.”

McGregor also retracted his statements from last month, when he lauded Trump for being “a multiple billionaire” who was “running for the love of his country.”

“I was actually wrong. Couple hundred million he is worth. Not multi B,” the Irish fighter-turned-actor wrote before criticizing Trump’s preference for Numagomedov over an American fighter. “That won’t go unnoticed on the roster. This presidential race is very tight right now. More so now.”
