OPINION:
Illegal aliens are literally using an app to schedule their unlawful entry into the U.S. (“‘Parole’ program put on hold amid massive fraud; Homeland Security promises to set up safeguards,” web, Aug. 2). Yes, you read that right. Reportedly, 1,450 appointments will be available every day. Even as I write this, I have a hard time believing it could be true.
Now it is completely clear why Vice President Kamala Harris does not want to be known as the border czar. Who in his or her right mind would claim credit for such a policy? Whatever happened to the age-old custom of going to a consulate and applying for a visa to enter the U.S.? Does anyone bother to do that anymore? Yet Democrats, elected and otherwise, are lining up to support and vote for the person whose responsibility it was and still is to get control of the border.
It is difficult to fathom how rational people would continue to vote against their own interests. It really is like chickens buying stock in KFC.
