A signed Polaroid photo of Apple co-founder Steve Jobs used as a temporary ID badge at his post-Apple venture NeXT sold at auction for $12,501 last week.

Jobs founded NeXT in 1985 after he resigned from Apple. Several former Apple employees joined him at the new computer firm, and eight other NeXT employee ID photos were included on the lot before being sold by RR Auction on Thursday.

NeXT was ultimately acquired by Apple in February 1997, a couple of months after Jobs rejoined Apple as a consultant. He would become the company’s interim head in September 1997 and once again became the company’s full-time CEO in 2000, holding that position until August 2011, soon before his death from pancreatic cancer.

The picture of Jobs was one of multiple items signed by him up on the block. A pair of signed Apple Computer checks from 1976, one of which predated the company’s official founding, sold for $66,844 and $31,246 on Thursday.

A trio of Polaroids depicting the prototype Apple-1 computer were auctioned off for $54,904.
