Google’s robotaxi company Waymo is now offering 24/7 curbside pickup at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, in yet another expansion for the autonomous vehicle company.

Waymo announced the expansion Tuesday on X, saying that Waymo customers will now be able to order an autonomous taxi at any time of day. Previously, Waymo’s taxis were only available between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

The company has offered airport transportation services since late 2022, when Waymo started offering rides to a nearby airport shuttle station.

The company soon expanded to curbside pickup at the Phoenix airport, making it the only airport in the world with robotaxi access.

According to Waymo, the airport expansion in Phoenix has been a success. In their announcement, the company said it would pass 100,000 robotaxi airport rides this week.

That success could mean customers in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Waymo’s two other cities, could soon have access to airport services.

Waymo has been expanding rapidly in 2024, greatly increasing its area of operations in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

Additionally, the company removed its waitlist in Los Angeles earlier this year, opening up robotaxi rides to all customers.
