Brown University is one of our oldest Ivy League schools. While widely known as a bastion of progressive thought, this reputation belies the college’s history.

The university’s founders and its namesakes — Moses, Joseph and Nicholas Brown — were all slave traders. Where are the “peaceful” protests and demands from the leftist students and alumni to rename the university? By retaining the name of a family of slave traders, the school appears to endorse the most egregious of professions.

If a few Indigenous people — supported by the liberal, “woke” contingent — could force the renaming of a mere football team, how can these supposedly progressive thinkers continue to allow Brown University’s homage to slavery?
