Former President Donald Trump plans to appear on Fox News for a town hall event Sept. 4 after Vice President Kamala Harris declined to participate in a debate on the network.

Mr. Trump said the event will be hosted by Sean Hannity, a Fox host who is friendly with the former president.

“It will take place in the Great Commonwealth of Pennsylvania - Details to follow!” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social late Monday.

Mr. Trump, the GOP presidential nominee, and his Democratic rival, Ms. Harris, plan to debate on ABC on Sept. 10.

The pair might debate again after the ABC event, though the only other confirmed debate is a vice presidential contest between Republican Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz on Oct. 1.

Mr. Trump wanted to debate Ms. Harris on Fox News on Sept. 4, but Ms. Harris refused as part of jockeying over debates after President Biden’s sudden withdrawal from the race in July.

On social media, Mr. Trump accused Ms. Harris of running scared, saying, “It is very difficult, at best, for her to defend her record setting Flip-Flopping on absolutely everything she once believed in.”

Ms. Harris, meanwhile, is basking in the glow of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago this week.

She paid homage to Mr. Biden and his career late Monday and will formally accept the nomination in a speech on Thursday.
