CHICAGO — The Democratic National Convention adopted the party’s platform on Monday, an apparent rush job that erroneously mentions President Biden’s upcoming “second term” several times.
Convention delegates approved the platform by voice vote on the opening day of their gathering.
Among its planks, it says the “commitment to Israel’s security, its qualitative military edge, its right to defend itself, and the 2016 Memorandum of Understanding is ironclad.”
But Republicans noted that the document contains numerous mentions of Mr. Biden’s second term. He dropped out of the race on July 21, pushing Vice President Kamala Harris to the top of the ticket.
“Kamala has no platform herself and Democrats just hope you won’t notice,” the Republican National Committee said on X.
