As Donald Trump pointed out at his recent press conference, “This election is about the economy, inflation, open borders (illegal immigration), respect for our nation and preventing World War III and a 1929-style depression.”

In 2016, the mainstream media went from lauding Mr. Trump and wanting to be his best friend to casting him as a demon the moment he announced himself as a Republican candidate. In like fashion, it reversed course on Kamala Harris, transforming her from political poison to nationwide hero the moment she was announced as the Democratic presidential candidate.

Those who base their votes on a personal dislike for Donald Trump are making a huge mistake. Besides the fact that both Democratic candidates’ faults dwarf Mr. Trump’s, Mr. Trump’s record clearly shows that his policies work. Mr. Trump also did a huge amount of good in his prepolitical life for both New York City and the country. Hs personal acts of compassion show a side of him the mainstream media refuse to cover.

In addition, short of those who die or suffer injury on behalf of our country, no one has sacrificed as much of their personal fortune or suffered as unrelenting and spurious an attack campaign as Donald Trump. How many of us could withstand the same?

I urge those whose personal animus against Mr. Trump makes them believe they could never vote for him to do their research. Understand that your hatred has been carefully nurtured by the media’s eight-year smear campaign against him. Virtually everything the leftist news outlets promote as evidence of Mr. Trump’s malfeasance has been debunked.

You might also consider the long list of celebrities, business leaders and tech moguls who have done their research and publicly changed their minds about Donald Trump.

You may not like Mr. Trump’s style. I don’t deny that he’s pugnacious, but that comes with the territory when you’ve grown up in the high-stakes world of New York real estate and have been subjected to nonstop attacks for years. I thank God for Donald Trump. I believe he is the fighter our nation and the world needs at this moment in history.
