Self-improvement is a multi-billion dollar business in America, and there’s a reason for that: People are largely dissatisfied with their levels of success in life, and they want to improve. There are several key characteristics shared by successful people.  But it’s probably not what you think.

Bob Harward, author of “The Gouge: How to be Smarter Than the Situation You Are In,” says he’s worked with great leaders for decades and that by and large, “They understood at the end of the day they were just another person doing a job and trying to meet their objective.”

Humility and partnerships with the right people are keys to success, he says.
