Former President Donald Trump railed against the media coverage of his livestreamed interview with X owner Elon Musk.

“I spent 2 1/2 hours last night talking to Elon, a fantastic guy, getting all-time record Views/hits, and all the Fake News wants to report is that the servers crashed (because of the tremendous volume!), and the show opened a little late,” Mr. Trump posted Tuesday on Truth Social.

“What they should be reporting was the incredible number of people that were listening,” he posted. “I absolutely HATE the Fake News Media. So bad for our Country!”

Monday night’s interview on X Spaces was delayed roughly 40 minutes, which Mr. Musk attributed to a “denial of service” attack on his website.

“There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on X. Working on shutting it down,” he posted on X. “Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later.”

The two-hour talk between the former president and Mr. Musk touched on different policy issues such as immigration, education, crime and his shooting.

On Wednesday, Mr. Trump urged people to find the “perfect” recording of his chat with Mr. Musk, after reports and listeners pointed out slurring in his speech.

In a Truth Social post, he said the audio issues were to blame.

“Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange. Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation,” Mr. Trump, the GOP nominee for president, wrote.

Mr. Musk posted a version with “higher quality audio.” The updated version seemed to have Mr. Trump’s voice sounding normal.
