Virginia police are looking into a burglary at former President Donald Trump’s campaign office.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s office said it is seeking a suspect who burglarized the Trump for President 2024 campaign office in Ashburn, Virginia on Sunday. The news release said the office is being leased by the Trump campaign and is also occupied by the Virginia 10th District Republican Committee.
Police were contacted around 9 p.m. Sunday about the burglary, and shared photos of the suspect, who appears to be a middle-aged white man, from the surveillance cameras. He is wearing a baseball cap and appears to be carrying a backpack of sorts.
“It is rare to have the office of any political campaign or party broken into,” Sheriff Mike Chapman said in the release. “We are determined to identify the suspect, investigate why it happened, and determine what may have been taken as well as what may have been left behind.”
He did not say whether anything was taken from the office.
“Anyone who believes they know the suspect, witnessed the burglary, or has any other information is asked to contact Detective Franks at (571) 918-1869,” the release said.
This incident comes just days after the Trump campaign said it was hacked and suggested that Iran was to blame.
