The president’s son is threatening to sue Fox News.
According to a report Monday in Axios, Hunter Biden sent a letter last week to the channel warning threatening of “imminent” lawsuits charging defamation, exploitation of his image and publication of hacked photographs.
The letter, Axios reported, demands that Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters and Maria Bartiromo preserve documentation, a standard step before libel lawsuits are filed.
“While routinely defaming and disparaging Mr. Biden, FOX has simultaneously sought to profit by the unlawful exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness for commercial purposes and reprehensible dissemination of salacious photographs depicting Mr. Biden,” attorney Tina Glandian, a partner at Geragos & Geragos, wrote in the letter obtained by Axios.
The letter makes two other significant demands, Axios reported.
The network must, the lawyers say, take off its streaming site the mock-trial special, “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” and must update all articles on Mr. Biden with an editor’s note.
Mr. Biden’s attorneys want every FoxNews.com article on the president’s son to note that informant Alexander Smirnov has been charged with lying to the FBI about Mr. Biden’s business dealings.
According to Axios, the Biden legal team requested a response from Fox News by last Friday on its list of demands but did not receive one.
Fox News did not immediately provide Axios with its own comment.
