Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon slammed House Republicans as unsupportive of former President Donald Trump and accused them of wanting to see him lose the November election.

“Why does [Rep. Jim] Jordan not have a criminal conspiracy investigation — from Fani Willis in Georgia to ’Big Tish James’ in New York City, the Justice Department?” Mr. Bannon said on his “War Room” podcast Monday.

“Why have they not been sent letters — ’preserve your documents.’ Why have hearings not gone on? Why have they not broken any of these things up? You know why? Because they don’t really have Trump’s back,” he said.

“They want MAGA to go away,” he said. “They want Trump to be defeated in November.”

He took aim at Mr. Jordan, Ohio Republican and chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, for not seriously supporting Mr. Trump, calling it “performative.”

“Let’s go on the offense, Jim Jordan. No, don’t go on [Fox News’] ’Hannity’ and tell me everything you are gonna do and send some tweets,” he said. “That’s all, that’s all performative. Nothing’s happening to back President Trump. Nothing.”

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, Georgia Republican and a Trump loyalist, joined Mr. Bannon on the podcast to talk about House Speaker Mike Johnson’s foreign aid package that passed the House on Saturday and is expected to pass the Senate on Tuesday.

Ms. Greene said the package, which included funds for Ukraine, has cost the Louisiana Republican support from other Trump supporters. She said the speaker “betrayed the entire Republican Party.”

Mr. Trump himself, however, has been sympathetic towards Mr. Johnson and said Monday that he thinks he’s “a very good person [who’s] trying very hard.”
