Mounting legal problems and congressional probes didn’t keep President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, from enjoying the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House on Monday.

Hunter Biden worked the line of families alongside his famous father during the event on the South Lawn. He mostly looked on, though he spoke to some attendees.

The White House estimated roughly 40,000 people attended the event.

The younger Mr. Biden has been welcomed to White House grounds for various events despite facing a swirl of scandal during his father’s term.

House GOP investigators are collecting testimony on Hunter Biden’s foreign business deals and the extent of his father’s involvement in the transactions.

Republican lawmakers left an empty witness chair for Hunter Biden at a public hearing featuring ex-business partners who detailed the president’s prior involvement in foreign business deals that netted the family and partners at least $24 million.

Hunter Biden, who testified privately under subpoena a month ago, refused to attend.

Separately, Hunter Biden is tied up in court.

The younger Biden has not been convicted of anything, though he has admitted to some of the underlying behavior in several forums.

He had reached a deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware last year to plead guilty to two tax evasion charges and to enter into a diversionary agreement for a gun charge.

That deal fell apart, and Hunter Biden has now been re-indicted on multiple gun charges and tax charges.
