A new National Republican Congressional Committee video takes shots at Democrats over the migrant situation in New York City, calling it an “unmitigated crisis.”

The video was posted today and is just over a minute long. It points out the influx of illegal immigrants, showing scenes from the border but also from New York streets.

“An unmitigated crisis. Not just at the border, but the Big Apple,” the narrator says. “Who’s to blame? Ask New Yorkers.”

The video also attacks Mayor Eric Adams for cutting back on overtime pay for the police, fire, sanitation and corrections departments in order to pay for the immigrants, along with using public schools to house them.

“It’s dangerous. It’s extreme. And Democrats run the other way when asked to step up,” the narrator says.

The city has seen more than 100,000 migrants over the past year, and Mr. Adams has called on the federal government for more help. The mayor has warned that the number of migrants “will destroy New York City” if left alone.

The video, which is only online, comes at a time when House Republicans are teeing up to defend their seats in New York in 2024 and to claim swing seats.

“Ignoring the border crisis won’t solve New York’s migrant crisis, despite Hakeem Jeffries’ desperate wishes,” NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert said in a statement.

Similarly in 2022, Republicans attacked Democrats on crime, a strategy that won the GOP seats on Long Island.
