Get ready for the battle of the governors.
Florida Republican Ron DeSantis and California Democrat Gavin Newsom have agreed to debate Nov. 30 on TV, with Fox News Host Sean Hannity moderating.
The debate will be 90 minutes and take place at a Georgia location yet to be determined. It will air on Fox during Mr. Hannity’s usual time of 9 p.m.
“I’m looking forward to providing viewers with an informative debate about the everyday issues and governing philosophies that impact the lives of every American,” Mr. Hannity said in a statement.
The idea for the debate was first mentioned to Mr. Newsom in June during a sit-down with Mr. Hannity. Mr. DeSantis agreed to participate in July.
“We’ve agreed to the debate — provided there is no cheering section, no hype videos or any of the other crutches DeSantis requested,” Nathan Click, spokesman for Mr. Newsom, told Politico.
Mr. Newsom first challenged the Florida governor and presidential candidate to a debate in 2022 after Mr. DeSantis decided to send migrants to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, which garnered him a lot of attention.
“I look forward to the opportunity to debate Gavin Newsom over our very different visions for the future of our country,” Mr. DeSantis posted on X Monday.
