White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre continues to insist that all is well at our southern border (“Texas has moved the conversation about illegal immigration to New York City,” web, Sept. 20).

While she attempts to divert attention from the Biden administration’s self-imposed disaster, it is clear is that she actually believes her own lies about the border and illegal immigration.

With the power of the bully pulpit, Ms. Jean-Pierre dismisses anyone who has an opposing point of view. “My way or the highway” seems to be her mantra.

She is so wrapped up in her prepared talking points, she has lost all ability to form original thoughts, and is befuddled by any unexpected questions from the press pool. Like the rest of the administration, she ignores any facts warranting a serious review of the current border policies.

While illegal immigrants openly storm our borders and cities, Ms. Jean-Pierre denies that a problem exists. Unlike in ours, in her world, ignorance is bliss. Her boss reaped the whirlwind, and she is on the path to do the same.
