Denver Broncos safety Kareem Jackson reportedly won’t be suspended for the high hit that left Washington Commanders tight end Logan Thomas with a concussion.
Jackson will be subject to a fine upon the NFL reviewing the helmet-to-helmet hit, according to multiple reports. But the veteran safety won’t miss a game, even though the instance marked the second straight week in which Jackson’s play came under scrutiny for delivering a questionable hit on an opponent.
In Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders, Jackson laid out wide receiver Jakobi Meyers across the middle — causing Meyers to miss the Raiders’ game Sunday against the Buffalo Bills. The NFL issued a nearly $15,000 fine to Jackson for the hit.
Against the Commanders, Jackson was immediately ejected for delivering a helmet-to-helmet hit in the second quarter after the tight end hauled in a 4-yard touchdown. Thomas remained on the ground for about a minute before eventually walking to the sideline. He was then evaluated for a concussion and ruled out for the rest of Washington’s 35-33 win.
If the NFL really cared about player safety then Kareem Jackson would sit a while.
