McDonald’s announced this week it will eliminate its self-serve soda machines by 2032 in its U.S. locations.
The fast-food chain said the decision was made to make the customer experience more consistent and to reflect consumer patterns after the COVID-19 pandemic. The company said that, after the pandemic, patrons are using the dining room less and the drive-in more.
Hence, McDonald’s plans to revamp its locations with little, or no, dining space and with high-tech drive-throughs.
The smaller locations will be called CosMc’s.
