GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley urged House Republicans on Sunday to end the “chaos” caused by ousting Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker and quickly choose a new one.

“We need to get united,” Ms. Haley said on NBC’s “Meet the Press.” “We need to focus on the issues that are facing us, and we need to do that now. There’s no time to waste.”

House Republicans will meet this week to debate between two speakership candidates: Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan of Ohio and Majority Leader Steve Scalise of Louisiana.

“I would remind Republicans: Don’t chase Democrat chaos with Republican chaos,” Ms. Haley said. “We need to come together; we need to focus on national security. We need to focus on the fact that 60% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck, that crime is at unprecedented levels, that our children are lacking in reading and math, that we have an open border, and that China’s preparing for war with us.”

Eight conservative hardliners and all House Democrats last week supported Mr. McCarthy’s ouster, which was led by Rep. Matt Gaetz, Florida Republican, paralyzing the chamber from conducting business.
