OPINION:
Hillary Clinton, who failed in her White House run against Donald Trump, took to CNN “Primetime” to say that the MAGA types of America are little more than “cult members” who need a “formal deprogramming.”
If a haughty spirit goes before a fall, then certainly hubris such as this won’t be well-received by God.
Too much of this type of arrogance permeates America’s political landscape these days — and sadly, it’s not even confined to one party. Democrats and Republicans both are guilty of wicked pride; more than that, all of humanity.
It’s just when Democrats express their arrogance, they do it with the openness of atheists who see nothing wrong with proclaiming their own inner thoughts and wills as truths, and with the puffery of a self that laughs at the idea of a higher power, watching and recording all.
When Clinton calls for the “formal deprogramming of the cult members” who continue to support Trump, what she’s actually proclaiming is that the millions and millions who put America First as a guiding political compass are stupid and ignorant, unthinking sheep who don’t understand the ways of the world and need only the much more intelligent Democrats — the carefully chosen Democrats, that is — to guide them toward proper living.
Prior to the era of Trump and MAGA, Democrats and Republicans and Americans of all political persuasions used to “work together,” Clinton said.
“I mean,” she said on CNN, “we have very strong partisans in both parties in the past and we had very bitter battles over all kinds of things … But there wasn’t this little tail of extremism wagging the dog of the Republican Party as it is today. And sadly, so many of those extremists, those MAGA extremists, take their marching orders from Donald Trump. … When do they break with him? You know, because at some point, you know, maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the cult members. But something needs to happen.”
This is the type of statement a communist would make while scooping up political dissenters in the middle of the night to send them away to a camp for reeducation.
That is the sort of mindset that truly — truly and genuinely and sincerely — believes in the superiority of a select few, a certain class, a specific segment of society, over the masses; and that, moreover, includes self among those selected elites.
Clinton, like most in the Democrat Party, believes that all conservatives would be liberals if they were only properly educated, properly trained properly guided.
“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall,” Proverbs 16:18 states.
Leftists don’t worry about such matters because they refuse to believe in the sovereignty of God and the day of reckoning and judgment. That’s why leftists don’t think twice about tossing Molotov cocktails in the streets as they see fit; or taking over city streets and setting up armed patrols to establish CHAZ or CHOP zones and calling it constitutionally protected expressions of speech; or setting police cars on fire in shows of protest; or perhaps even allegedly ramming a vehicle into the back of Vivek Ramaswamy’s campaign car as a means of expressing dissatisfaction with his conservative speech in Grinnell, Iowa. That’s why Democrat members of Congress can call on their lunatic fringe base to harass MAGA types at their homes, at their places of business, at the restaurants they frequent with their family members — and face zero accountability for inciting the violence they turn and blame Trump for inciting on January 6. That’s why Democrats can stand idly by and allow radical feminist types to illegally petition outside Supreme Court justices’ homes at all hours of the day and night to intimidate and bully and demand the continuance of a Roe v. Wade society; the continuation of an abortion culture that allows unfettered access, even tax-paid access, to the killing of babies in even the ninth month of pregnancy — and, even more arrogantly, in the days that follow actual birth.
“To fear the Lord is to hate evil; [the Lord] hate[s] pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech,” Proverbs 8:13 reads.
Democrats, leftists, leaders — or has-been leaders, as the case may be — like Hillary Clinton don’t fear the Lord.
So they don’t hate evil.
So their mouths are filled with perverse and wicked speech.
Hillary, hubris is thy name.
“Maybe there needs to be a formal deprogramming of the [MAGA] cult members,” she said.
These are scary political times for America — scary times that see some on the left actually finding and feeling a morally righteous cause in perpetrating persecution and even violence against those of MAGA mindsets.
But that’s nothing compared to the scary times that await the ones spouting this arrogance and spreading this hubris.
“The Lord detests all the proud of heart,” Proverbs 16:5 states. “Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.”
Whether or not the pride-filled believe, there will be consequences for their pride-filled ways.
