President Biden’s approval rating among Democrats and independents has dropped to its lowest levels ever, with a double-digit drop among members of his own party, according to a Gallup poll released Thursday.

The poll found that 75% of Democrats approve of Mr. Biden’s job performance, an 11% decline from the same poll last month. Among independents, Mr. Biden’s approval rating dipped 4%, with only 35% approving his handling of the presidency.

Both numbers are Mr. Biden’s lowest for Democrats and independents since he took office in 2021.

Republican opinions of Mr. Biden didn’t move at all from last month, with 5% saying they back the president’s performance, the poll found.

Overall, Mr. Biden’s approval rating dropped to 37%, a 4% decline from last month. It’s the fourth time in the 33 polls Gallup has conducted since Mr. Biden took office in which that rating is below 40%.

The poll was conducted from Oct. 2 to Oct. 23, with 1,009 respondents participating in the survey with a margin of error or 4%.
