If you want to understand why Americans have lost liberties in recent times, look to the churches. As morals decline, government power rises. That’s because a society without virtuous people is a society that demands, nay, requires Big Government to control behaviors.

This is why America is facing so much Big Government overreach these days.

This is why Americans are having to fight for freedoms that just a few short years ago were inherent and unchallenged.

The more secular the country becomes, the more frequently God is removed from the public stage, the more emboldened government is to step in and fill the void; the more greedy politicians become for more power, more power, more power. It’s not by coincidence that the most tyrannical societies of the world are also the most atheist.

Author Michael Phillips says, of the need to keep God at the forefront of American society: “It’s not just [a] Christian message. There is a linkage between Christian values and simply American values. And they’re pretty much the same.”

Tune in to this episode of “Bold and Blunt” to hear more of the fascinating discussion with Phillips, and to learn why America’s fight for liberty is one and the same with Americans’ belief in God.
