X’s newly minted CEO Linda Yaccarino confirmed this week that the platform is getting serious about information related to the Israel-Hamas conflict after a European Union commissioner criticized the platform’s response to the violence.

In a letter signed by the CEO, Ms. Yaccarino said the company has significantly “redistributed resources” to deal with the issue. She went on to say a leadership group was formed after the fighting started, removing thousands of false or misleading posts.

The letter comes as a response to EU Commissioner Thierry Breton’s letter accusing the site of spreading wrong information.

X users reported seeing fake videos of terror attacks carried out by Hamas.
