Former President Donald Trump plans to address some of his most loyal supporters Wednesday night in Florida, where he will share the spotlight with Rep. Matt Gaetz.

Mr. Trump and Mr. Gaetz are set to speak at the Club 47 USA event at the Palm Beach County Convention Center.

The appearances come after Mr. Gaetz led the successful push to oust Rep. Kevin McCarthy as speaker of the House.

Mr. McCarthy’s downfall came despite his various moves to remain in Mr. Trump’s good graces. Mr. Trump, however, stayed relatively silent during the leadership fight.

Mr. Gaetz, who is thought to be laying the groundwork for a 2026 gubernatorial bid, said his conversations with Mr. Trump left him “with great confidence that I did the right thing” in ousting the man the former president had referred to as “My Kevin.”

Mr. Trump denied the suggestion.

Mr. Trump has since endorsed Rep. Jim Jordan of Ohio, chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, to become the next speaker of the House.

Mr. Gaetz has said Mr. Jordan and House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, who served as one of McCarthy’s top lieutenants, are both good fits for the top job in the House.

That will serve as part of the backdrop for the Club 47 USA meeting.

Billing itself as the “Largest in the Nation Trump Club,” the group’s invite says “We are PROUD to be ’ULTRA MAGA.’”
