The White House said Tuesday that President Biden wasn’t distracted by a two-day interview with special counsel Robert K. Hur while the president also was organizing a U.S. response to Hamas’ terrorist attacks in Israel.
“Presidents have to do multiple things at once,” said White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. “The president was very much engaged in showing his leadership. The president has to handle many things at once, and we saw him do that over the past couple of days.”
The president was interviewed Sunday and Monday by Mr. Hur, the special counsel investigating whether Mr. Biden illegally mishandled classified documents found at his home and office.
On Tuesday, Mr. Biden announced steps that the U.S. is taking to bolster Israel’s defenses and to find and rescue Americans and others being held hostage by Hamas.
