Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley called out President Biden for causing the war in Israel and not doing enough to help allies and protect national security.

“This is true evil that we’re seeing. And the top of that ticket, Joe Biden, is the one that’s allowing all of these Democrats to act this way because he did this to us,” Ms. Haley, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, told Fox News’ Sean Hannity Monday night. “He is the one that took off and has been silent the last couple of days when we have nine Americans, maybe 11 Americans that are hostages or died in this situation, and I’m sure there are more.”

Her response came after Hamas, the Palestinian militant group that rules Gaza, launched a surprise terrorist assault on Israel Saturday morning. Hamas used a multipronged attack, shooting rockets and taking Israeli soldiers and civilians captive, which prompted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to declare war on the group.

Ms. Haley referred to Mr. Biden’s unfreezing billions of dollars to Iran, calling it a “terrible deal.” Other Republicans have aired grievances over the unfrozen funds, saying that it led to the attack on Israel.

“A thousand of our greatest ally’s citizens died. And what are we doing? Not enough,” she said. “We need to be there and let every terrorist know, we are going to hold hands with Israel, we are going to be there with them.”

“It is time for America to pull this together,” she said. “It is time for America to stop all these silly games, silly distractions and get to work for the American people because our national security is at risk and our friends are at risk, and we are watching that happen right now, and it’s a tragedy.”

In a Monday post on X, Ms. Haley listed what she thinks America should do to help Israelis. It included providing them with arms and intelligence, telling regional governments such as Lebanon that they must not allow their land to be used for the war, ending American taxpayer money for “Palestinian entities or United Nations-back entities that side with Hamas or fail to denounce antisemitic activity” and refreezing the billions of dollars for Iran.

Israel needs our help in this battle of good vs. evil,” she wrote.

More than a thousand people have died in Israel and Gaza. Hamas is believed to have more than 100 hostages and released a statement saying that it would broadcast the execution of one civilian each time Israel attacks Gaza unwarned.
