OPINION:
After listening to reports about former President Donald Trump’s civil trial, all I have come away with is this: We have a corrupt judicial system (“Trump mixes it up with the judge from start in civil trial testimony,” web, Nov. 6).
Presiding Judge Arthur Engoron had the unmitigated gall to make up a lowball value on Mr. Trump’s Florida estate, saying Mr. Trump committed fraud for inflating its worth and ignoring real estate appraisals. This despicable judge’s bias was made clear when he told Mr. Trump he wasn’t there to listen to anything the former president had to say.
His counterpart in the conspiracy is New York Attorney General Letitia James, who ran on a platform of “getting” Mr. Trump. She has called Mr. Trump “too male, too pale and too stale.”
Together, Judge Engoron and Ms. James have abused their positions, denying Mr. Trump due process and a right to a fair trial.
Another affront to the American people was hearing former President Barack Obama — who aided our enemy Iran with billions of dollars — say that “no one has clean hands” in the Israel-Hamas fight. (Israel, by the way, is simply trying to defend itself and its citizens.)
Mr. Obama said the Palestinians in Gaza “have nothing to do with what Hamas did.” His ignorance is mind-boggling. The Palestinians voted for Hamas, putting the terrorist group into power, so this is on them.
And that brings me to President Biden. I’ve heard numerous people say he hasn’t accomplished anything in office, but I beg to differ. He has committed treason by aiding Iran with billions of our tax dollars; he has killed our oil industry; he has opened our southern border to millions of illegals, including terrorists; he has divided people more starkly than Mr. Obama did; he has made us weak in the eyes of the world and he has all but killed our economy.
If ever there were a reason to reelect Mr. Trump, this would be it.
