Candace Cameron Bure boldly lives out her faith while tackling secular culture in Hollywood. Here are some encouraging quotes from her to inspire this Christmas season.

“I am a sinner by God’s standard and then I understood my need of a savior and for Jesus.”

Candace recounted “the moment” she had when her head knowledge of what it meant to be saved through Jesus and her heart knowledge of truly understanding what that meant. She read “The Way of the Master,” by Ray Comfort and began to understand grace, forgiveness and sin for the first time. After her realization, she decided to live a life of gratitude and to glorify God in all aspects of her life.

In a very relatable way, Candace beautifully articulates that we all fall short of God’s standard and that being a good person who does good things is not enough for eternal salvation. Falling into a comparison trap over which sin is worse is not how God views the world and isn’t how we should measure ourselves either.

“My faith has always been with me, I’ve never left it at the doorstep. It’s always with me no matter what space I’m entering.”

Since returning to the small screen, Candace has become a bold and vocal proclaimer of the Gospel in the entertainment industry. She hasn’t backed down from controversy and continues to share her faith whenever the opportunity presents itself.

This is an encouraging and essential truth for all of us as we try to live out an authentic faith in a growing secular world.

“I couldn’t do my job as a mom the way I wanted to do it.”

Candace had her first child with her husband Valeri Bure at 22 years old and ultimately made the decision to leave the limelight and be a stay-at-home mom. That was a difficult choice after having a successful child acting career and the adjustment was a “big eye-opener,” she said.

But it was a humbling and rewarding experience that helped her flourish as a mom, wife and Christian. We’ve all been through seasons of life where we have to make tough decisions – ones that might put others before ourselves or take us away from something we’re passionate about or excel at. But there are other opportunities open to us when we step away from worldly pursuits like Ms. Bure discovered when she began to focus on her family and faith instead of her career.

“It was my time in the word and studying God’s word that gave me a peace that surpasses all understanding … I absolutely trust Him.”

After 10 years away from the screen, Candace made the decision to return to acting. She knew that there were only two options: doors would open or they would remain shut. But she said she “surrendered to whatever time and place and season of life [the Lord] has me in.”

Even when things don’t work out the way we hoped, when we place our trust in God and understand that His plan may be different than our own, we can find peace and joy in whatever journey He has set us on.

“I only have an audience of ONE. That’s God. And while I take the responsibility of role model seriously, I’m not perfect. I never will be. I’m a human being with faults and a sinful heart by nature.”

In 2014, Candace appeared on ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” and recounted how contradictory the criticism of her was. People called her too religious while also saying she wasn’t Godly enough. Others called her too conservative and even more accused of her being immodest.

She took to her blog and reminded us all of an essential truth about how no human being is perfect and we all fall short of God’s goal.

“God gives hope to all who ask Him for it. Seek Him.”

At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Candace found herself isolated just like many all over the world. This simple proclamation she shared is a powerful reminder to seek God in our daily lives. By being intuned with His word, we can find hope even in the darkest times.
