Strong winds at Disneyland Monday toppled a light pole onto a walkway near the entrance to the Anaheim, California, theme park, injuring three people.
The pole fell in the park’s Main Street USA area at around 8:30 a.m. Pacific time amid the gusts.
Of those struck by the pole, two were treated at the scene with minor injuries, while the third was hospitalized with more serious injuries, Anaheim Fire and Rescue spokesman Jon McClintock told The Orange County Register.
The peak wind speed at John Wayne Airport about 15 miles away from Disneyland was 48 mph soon after the light pole accident, per data from the National Weather Service.
By 10:09 a.m., the fallen lamppost had been removed.
