“The Supreme Court hears arguments in a case over a gun law that protects domestic violence victims” (web, Sept. 7) only heralds the unpredictability of a purportedly conservative Supreme Court.

Justices who were appointed for their support for life may in all other regards be bleeding-heart liberals. The court’s recent ruling over so-called ghost guns totally ignores the tradition of the construction of firearms by craftsmen who never identified their handicrafts with serial numbers.

To the liberal mind, there’s no reason why due process, the presumption of innocence or the lack of any actual crime should protect a citizen’s right to keep and bear arms.

In reality, we may have a Supreme Court that is conservative on the right to life but liberal on other issues.
