Finally Lori Lightfoot will no longer be allowed to sacrifice innocent lives in Chicago (“Lori Lightfoot eliminated in Chicago mayor’s race,” web, Feb. 28). Voters tossed her to the curb, where she belongs.

At another time, in another place, Ms. Lightfoot will receive the judgment she so badly deserves, but for now there should be rejoicing that she will not be the reason so many die violently in Chicago. Ms. Lightfoot and her venom have been unplugged for the time being. It will be interesting to see if Chicago wants to clean itself up and be the great city it was, or remain the vile hole it is now.

One thing is for certain: With Ms. Lightfoot gone, lives will be saved.
