Real leaders practice what they preach. New York City Mayor Eric Adams wants to pay residents to shelter migrants in their own homes (“Room for rent? New York mayor willing to pay homeowners to house migrants,” web, June 5).

How many will he put up in Gracie Mansion or in his Brooklyn apartment, I wonder?

Will New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, City Comptroller Brad Lander, New York City Public Advocate Jumaane Williams and New York City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams open their homes to these supposed asylum-seekers, too?

What about other New York representatives, state senators, assembly members, borough presidents and district attorneys? Will they house migrants, and without compensation from the taxpayer?

New Yorkers who have second summer residences in the Hamptons or Catskills can open their homes, too.

Who will be legally liable should an “asylum-seeker” commit a crime while living in your home? Talk is cheap, but actions speak louder.
