“Biden energy official tells GOP lawmakers don’t worry about gas stoves: No authority to ban” web, July 18) gets it totally wrong.

Energy Undersecretary for Science and Innovation Geraldine Richmond is quoted as saying, “DOE cannot require, and is not proposing, that consumers replace those [stoves] already installed in their homes.”

That statement does not support her claim that the department “does not have the authority to ban gas stoves.” The Department of Energy can and surely will mandate regulations that will prohibit the installation of gas stoves in any new houses, apartments or condominiums.

The Biden administration will wean American citizens off natural gas, regardless of the people’s wishes.

Once the prophets of doom of the administration get a bit in their mouths, they never let go. They just change the dialogue so that the ever-so-slow American public doesn’t see that the left hand is distracting them while right hand gets up to no good.

The GOP lawmakers failed miserably when they failed to ask if the Department of Energy intends to block the purchase or installation of gas stoves in new construction.

When the Department of Energy finally does just that, Ms. Richmond will tell us all that she clearly said the department cannot require consumers to replace those stoves already installed in their homes.

Leftists in this administration don’t lie; they just make statements that lead the American people and Congress to the wrong conclusions. It’s not what they say, but rather, what they do not say, that drives us deeper into tyranny.
