Movies are generally meant to entertain the viewer, but the new film “Sound of Freedom” is more of a wake-up call to a dark world many of us have never encountered (“Actor Jim Caviezel shares his passion for role in new film ’Sound of Freedom,’” web, June 29).

Disturbingly, at the end of the film, it is noted that the largest market for the child sex-slave trade is the United States.

Our nation once exemplified moral leadership to the world, as noted by the French historian Alexis de Tocqueville when he toured America and wrote about its moral decency in the 1830s. He found that Christianity was crucial to America and said it should be “maintained at all costs.”

Today, news stories of drag queens in children’s classrooms and of child mutilation for profit at top university medical schools, including Vanderbilt, indicate that America no longer holds the moral high ground in the world.

Atheistic cultures such as China and Russia would never allow the public display of sexual self-absorption we see in America today, as they must be aware that such decadence has been the ruin of once-great civilizations, such as the Roman Empire.

Even some in our military embrace “wokeism” and “gender fluidity.” Our enemies must be either shuddering in fear or laughing in disbelief.

May God bless Tim Ballard, Jim Caviezel and Angel Studios for exposing to the American people the abominable child sex trade.
