Thank you for the recent editorial “For ‘select’ at Davos, money is key to staying cool” (Web, Jan. 23). It was a great expose of the self-aggrandizement of the leaders of the climate-catastrophe farce.

The piece quotes John Kerry, President Biden’s special envoy for climate, at the recent World Economic Forum, referring to himself and those like him as “’we select group of human beings.’” As your editorial says, for this “breed who are ’saving the planet’ … the key to staying cool is ’money, money, money, money, money, money, money.’”

In 2015, then-Secretary of State Kerry stated the truth about climate change: “The fact is that even if every American citizen biked to work, carpooled to school, used only solar panels to power their homes, if we each planted a dozen trees, if we somehow eliminated all of our domestic greenhouse gas emissions, guess what? That still wouldn’t be enough to offset the carbon pollution coming from the rest of the world.”

The climate facts have not changed. Why punish the developed countries while giving nations such as China and India — which are responsible for most of Earth’s pollution — a free pass?
