The football future of star quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be determined by what he learns on an “isolation retreat.”
The Green Bay Packers’ leading man said during his Tuesday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” that he plans to take the retreat in the coming weeks. The twist: The isolation is in a blacked-out room.
“It’s four nights of complete darkness,” Rodgers said. “It’s a darkness retreat. I’ve had a number of friends who have done it and have had some profound experiences, and it’s been something that’s been on my radar for a few years now.”

Rodgers clarified for the bewildered hosts that he will be in a room (as opposed to a cave), where he will be fed food via a two-way slot and will have a bathroom. But he’ll have no phone or music to distract him.
He can leave any time, but Rodgers said he intends on committing to the four days so he can discern whether he’ll continue playing.
“I’m still in the art of contemplation about my future,” he said. “That’s why I think it’s going to be important to get through this week and then to take my isolation retreat and just be able to contemplate all things my future and then make a decision that I feel like is best for me moving forward and the highest interest of my happiness and then move forward.”
Green Bay is coming off an 8-9 season. Rodgers has played 18 years with the Packers, leading them to the NFL title in the 2010 season.
